Beer News

This comes from the Yazoo email:

Friday, October 12th, we better being seeing you at Young Avenue Deli (2119 Young Ave)! Why? Well, not only are they having a Yazoo pint night, but at 6:00pm we are tapping a special cask we like to call Patio Pale-- the classic Yazoo Pale Ale dry-hopped with hops picked from the vines growing on our patio at the brewery in Nashville. The end product came out with some extra spicy, citrusy deliciousness that we LOVE! Join us for a pint (or two) and try it for yourself!

There are other great beer events in Cooper-Young this weekend too!

On Thursday, October 11th, join us at 7:00pm for a phenomenal Yazoo beer dinner at Sweetgrass (937 South Cooper St). The menu includes four courses paired with Gerst, Pale Ale, SUE, and Onward Stout-- check it out here! A limited amount of tickets are still available for $35, and can be purchased at Sweetgrass in person or by phone (901-278-0278).

And who could forget the 3rd Annual Cooper-Young Regional Beerfest

Capping off the end of this wonderful week of beer is the 3rd Annual Cooper-Young Regional Beerfest on Saturday, October 13th. From 1:00-5:00pm, Yazoo and other great regional breweries will be pouring up your favorites. The Cooper-Young Beerfest is an awesome celebration of craft beer and is never boring. Best part-- it's only $35! Tickets are going fast, so grab yours here and make sure you come say hi and sip on some Yazoo goodness with us!

Sierra Nevada Hoptimum

A group of hop-heads and publicans challenged our Beer Camp brewers to push the extremes of whole-cone hop brewing. The result is this: a 100 IBU, whole-cone hurricane of flavor. Simply put —Hoptimum: the biggest whole-cone IPA we have ever produced. Aggressively hopped, dry-hopped, AND torpedoed with our exclusive new hop varieties for ultra-intense flavors and aromas.

Resinous "new-school" and exclusive hop varieties carry the bold and aromatic nose. The flavor follows the aroma with layers of aggressive hoppiness, featuring notes of grapefruit rind, rose, lilac, cedar, and tropical fruit—all culminating in a dry and lasting finish.
